QGIS Project
This QGIS project was created during my marine biology internship in Mexico. I used QGIS to map and organize all the marine animal sightings recorded throughout the internship.
On the map, each point corresponds to a precise observation, georeferenced using GPS coordinates. For each point, I added:
– the date of the sighting,
– the common name of the species observed,
– a photo of the animal,
– and a link to my YouTube videos showing the corresponding species.
The points are grouped by major species categories, providing a clear and structured view of the distribution of animals observed during the internship.
This project allowed me to combine fieldwork, data collection, and digital mapping skills, while documenting my observations in a scientific, rigorous, and visual way.
This interactive map shares those encounters: click on the markers to explore my photos, videos, and notes.
Here is my internship report from Apex Ocean Divers, where I present the organization of Apex, the study area, my main tasks, the structure of my internship, the skills I developed, and the challenges I faced.
