This page presents the collaboration between Apex Cetacea and CNRS researchers and divers.
The CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research) is the main public research organization in France. It supports and coordinates work across all scientific fields to advance knowledge and innovation.
They study the biomass of macroalgae in the Hossegor lake. Every year, precise samples are collected at specific GPS points. During my internship with Apex Cetacea, I had the opportunity to take part in one of these sampling days. My role was to guide the boat’s captain to the 30 GPS points where the samples had to be collected. To ensure accuracy, I used a GPSMAP62s and a detailed map. After each sample was taken, I confirmed and reported its completion for the corresponding GPS point.
